Sam Agbi, a Fellow of the Theatre (fta), is a seasoned Career Civil Servant and Professional of the Performing and Theatre Arts. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dramatic Arts from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (1986) and Master of Arts Degree in Media Arts from University of Abuja (2016).

He is also an erudite scholar of the Communication Arts with a Post Graduate Diploma in Advertising and Public Relations from the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja (2003) and Certificate in Advertising from Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Lagos (1993).

He is an active member of the National Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners (NANTAP) (fta), as well as the Advertising Practitioners’ Council of Nigeria (APCON) (rpa), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) (mnipr) and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) (mnim).

Sam Agbi, has been a household name in the Nigerian Theatre Arts circle, he showed his exceptional talent as a Troupe Manager, Director and Actor since 1986-87, when as a young graduate and Corps Member, he won the Best Corps Member Award from the NYSC as a result of his remarkable concept “Theatre-on-Wheels”; where he Produced and Directed Wole Soyinka’s “The Lion and The Jewel” for Secondary Schools across the State, aimed at helping students experience the theatrical aspect of their literature curriculum. Within the same period, he co-founded FEZI Theatre Productions in Lagos and later SANS Theatre Productions in Makurdi – Benue State. These Theatre Outfits introduced several innovative ideas which brought vibrancy into the Theatre Arts scene in the respective states.

Sam Agbi has remained relevant in the Theatre Arts Circle even when he advanced his career into the Nigerian Civil Service. He joined the Service of the National Council for Arts and Culture on 1 st June, 1990, as a Performing Arts Officer I (PAOI). He again proved his talent and excellence, winning several Best Staff Member Awards, starting from his first year in service and consecutively for the next 5 years. With a track record of hardwork, discipline commitment and dedication, he has worked in most of the Departments of the Council in various capacities including being a Special Assistant to the Director General (2004-2017), growing to become an effective administrator as well as a
dynamic and charismatic leader.

During his Civil Service Career, Sam has been a renowned Events and Operations Manager who has been a key member of the organisation of the Performance and Cultural Content for several Festivals, Carnivals, Workshops, Symposia and Seminars; notable among which are the Abuja Carnival, National Festival of Arts and Culture (NAFEST), Investment Forum of the International Arts and Crafts (INAC) Expo, to mention but a few, as well as numerous international engagements in the same vein.

Sam Agbi is currently culminating his career as the Director Performing Arts with the National Council for Arts and Culture, a position he has held for the past 4 years. Since assuming the helm of affairs as HOD Performing Arts, Sam has remarkably changed the narrative by revamping and reinvigorating a hitherto moribund Performing Arts Department in to an eclectic, dynamic, remarkable Performing Troupe, with a repertoire that ranges from Dance, Drama, Choral Music, Contemporary Music and Total Theatre Productions.

The NCAC Performing Troupe have since become a household name within Nigeria and even Internationally by reason of the many memorable performances, presentations and productions Sam Agbi has coordinated, notable among which are:

Financial Secretary

Dr. Haruna Muhammad Jumare (PhD, FCNA, FCPA, FIPFM, MNIM)

Dr Haruna Muhammed Jumare holds a Diploma, Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Accounting and Business Administration respectively from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between the years 1986 – 2000. He also obtained a dual Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degrees in Management from St. Clements University, BWI – London (United Kingdom) in 2009 and Financial Management from Universidad Empresarial de Costa Rica (UNEM);The Business University of Costa Rica in 2014.

Dr Jumare began his professional career in Accounting, Administration and Financial Management from 1988 as an Accountant in charge of the Senior Staff Payroll, Budgeting and Control with Ahmadu Bello University Zaria until 1992. He was appointed as a Senior Accountant in Federal College of Education, Zaria and rose to the rank of a Deputy Bursar in 2001.

In 2004, he was appointed as the substantive Bursar of Federal College of Education, Zaria with effect from 1st October 2004. This is the position he held excellently and meritoriously for ten (10) years and in 2015, he proceeded for a Sabbatical appointment with the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI) Kaduna as a Deputy Director, Finance & Accounts the job he performed with extraordinary exemplary qualities and disposition of a great Financial Manager and Seasoned Public Administrator. Subsequently in 2018, he was appointed the Deputy Director,Internal Audit of Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation (SABMF) Kaduna, the position he held up to 31st December, 2019 and on the 2nd January, 2020, Dr Haruna Muhammed Jumare was further appointed to serve as the Director of Finance and Administration of the Foundation after satisfactory performance at the Selection Interview.

Dr Jumare was involved in the review of the Federal Government/National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) Financial Regulations and Accounting Manual for Colleges of Education in Nigeria, 2009. His wealth of experience and technical know-how earned him respect among his colleagues.

Dr Jumare joined the world of professionalism immediately after his graduation and proved him to be a member and fellow of many recognized professional/specialized bodies both within and outside the country among which are: The Association of National Accountants of Nigeria; The Institute of Certified Public Administrators of England and Wales; The Institute of Chartered Management Accountants; The Institute of Professional Financial Managers, London; The Nigerian Institute of Management; and The Institute of Management Consultants.

Dr Jumare was a Consultant/Resource fellow in the selection panels for the appointment of the following Bursars in the States and Federal Colleges of Education in Nigeria: Shehu Idris School of Health Technology, Makarfi – 2005; Federal College of Education Eha-Amufu, Enugu State – 2010; Federal College of Education (T) Potiskum – 2010; Kogi State College of Education, Ankpa – 2011; Adeyemi College of Education, Ondo, Ondo State– 2013; and Kaduna Polytechnic, Kaduna – 2022.

On Contribution to National and Community Development, Dr Jumare held the following positions: Chairman/CEO, ZamZam Farms Ltd – 2001 to Date; Member Board of Trustees, Kaduna State Youth Consultative Forum – 2005 – Date; National Director of Finance – Gamji Members of Association (GAMA) – 2003 – 2005; Proprietor,Muhammad Jumare Free Adult Education, Islamiyya and Entrepreneurship School, Samaru, Zaria – 2001 to Date; Ahmadu Bello University, Alumni Association, Vice Chairman Zaria Branch –(2013 – Date); The National Auditor (2015 – 2017) and The National Financial Secretary (2017 – Date); Member, Board of Trustees Government Commercial College Old Students Association (GOCCOSA)Zaria – 2012 – Date; National Treasurer Sardauna Memorial College Old Boys Association (SAMOBA), 2009 – 2012; Member, Zaria Education Development Association, (ZEDA),1995 – Date; and holds the traditional title of MARADIN ZAZZAU.

He enjoys Farming, Reading, Writing, Badminton and Horse Riding as his extra-curricular activities and has travelled widely both within and outside the country.
